Hisham Billal started his career in radio and music recording before making the transition to film and TV in 2010, when he was hired as a sound effects recordist for Alzheimer’s (2010). Since then, Hisham has worked in a wide variety of creative capacities within sound departments of many films and TV series.
Hisham has been on staff as a sound designer and mixer at Radio One for media production. He mixed for many TV commercials, radio productions, and TV series such as Sister Teresa (2012) and Compulsory Choice (2017). He has also worked as a freelance sound director for many films, including Helm Aziz (2012), Al Makida (2014), 72 + 2 (2016), Our Dream Christmas (2017), When It Comes Around (2018), Bronx SIU (2018), and Ladies of the Law (2018).
Hisham believes that his work of manipulating and fine-tuning sound is not simply a series of technical processes, but an art form.
